Theatre InformationThe Hokkaido Shiki Theatre
Shiki opened its own theatre in Hokkaido on January 8, 2011. It is opened with the Commemorative Opening Arts Festival, in which Evita the Musical and Anne of Green Gables are played. After the festival, THE LION KING is playedas its grand opening. The theatre was constructed in Chuo-ku, Sapporo based on the concept of “an intense space where stage and auditorium seem to merge into one.”

JR Sapporo Station→Theatre: arrive at the theatre 45 minutes prior to the show(there is only one bus)
Theatre→JR Sapporo Station: depart 15 minutes after the show(there is only one bus).
Services Inside the Theatre
During the performance
Large items, such as suitcases and baby carriages, must be left in the cloakroom. Storing umbrellas in the cloakroom is not allowed and patrons must take them in the auditorium.
Please allow extra time for storing your belongings before the show.
Blankets are available for rental. If you wish to borrow a blanket, please ask at the Information desk.
Rental Subtitle Glasses
“Subtitle glasses” that display subtitles in front of the wearer’s eyes are available for rent, to enable tourists visiting Japan from overseas to enjoy The Shiki Theatre productions in comfort.
As well as English, Chinese and Korean are also supported. We hope that you will avail yourself of this service.

Located in the foyer, the merchandise shop offers a variety of products in association with the show, including programs. We hope that you visit the shop to browse souvenirs and gifts availbable. Please note that some merchandise is also available through the online shop (internet shopping).
Situated in the foyer, this shop offers coffee and juice. Please consume your purchases in the foyer and refrain from consuming food and drinks in the auditorium.
You can purchase programs from the program counter as well as from the Merchandise Shop.
Please observe good manners so that all members of the audience may enjoy the performance.
Photography, video and audio recording are not allowed in the auditorium
All photography inside the auditorium is prohibited. Please also refrain from taking photographs before the performance begins. Video and audio recording during the performance is prohibited by law.
Turn your smartphones and mobile phones off
During the performance, please turn your mobile phones, watch alarms, game consoles or other devices, which emit sound or light, off.
Do not lean forward during the performance
Leaning forward in your seat obstructs the view of behind you. Please sit up straight with your back against the seat during the performance.
Talking during the performance is prohibited
Please refrain from talking during the performance for not disturbing other members of the audience. You may be asked by staff to refrain from talking if necessary.
