Paris immediately after the Second World War.
Jerry, an American ex-serviceman was dreaming of starting a new life as a painter in Paris and to bid farewell to the dark days of the war.
One day, Jerry encounters Lise in the still chaotic postwar streets and falls in love with her at first sight.
Deciding to stay in Paris in order to dedicate his life to art, Jerry is united in friendship with Adam, an aspiring composer, and Henri, who dreams of becoming a showman.
Later, Jerry meets Lise once again at a ballet studio where he has gone with Adam to do some sketching.
At the audition, her dancing charms everyone and Adam falls in love with her also. However, unbeknownst to them, their friend Henri was also in love with someone, and that was also Lise.
By chance, the three men have all fallen in love with the same woman at the same time. But Lise has troubles of her own.
Sheltered by Henri’s family during the Nazi occupation of Paris, she wavers between her debt of gratitude to Henri and her attraction to Jerry who wants to take her away to freedom. Should she do what is expected of her, or should she listen to her heart?
The fates of these young people are entangled in the dazzling streets of a revived Paris.
They may be troubled and they may quarrel, but what will happen to their romances and friendships as they earnestly chase their dreams?
